Recreation Specialist I

The Recreation Specialist I role is onsite in Loveland, CO, at an InnovAge facility and/or participant home; compensation is not specified. The role supports recreation programming for frail elderly participants in the InnovAge PACE program. The specialist assesses participants’ interests and capabilities and develops individualized recreation plans. Through group and individual activities, outings, and coordination with the multidisciplinary team, the role supports participant engagement and care plans.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement individualized recreation plans
• assess and reassess functional status related to activities
• lead or assist with group and individual activities
• plan the overall recreation program with recreation assistants
• schedule outings and events
• prepare and clean activity areas
• complete assigned charting
• oversee assigned volunteers and senior companions
• attend care plan meetings
• and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team.

Why this role

Requires two years of experience coordinating social or recreational services for frail or elderly populations within the last five years, including one full-time year in patient recreation in a healthcare setting, and one year working with frail or elderly people. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience is required; Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification and listed language skills are preferred.
