The Optician role is onsite in Brownsville, TX, with compensation of $11–$13 per hour. The position supports Shah Eye Center’s optical services for clients and patients. The role helps clients obtain properly fitted eyewear by interpreting prescriptions, taking measurements, preparing laboratory work orders, and checking and adjusting finished glasses. It also supports optical-area operations, order tracking, and patient service.

What you'll do

• Interpret prescriptions
• measure clients
• help select frames, lenses, and treatments
• prepare optical laboratory work orders
• verify and adjust finished eyewear
• repair frames
• educate clients on eyewear and contact lens care
• track orders, prescriptions, and inventory
• maintain the optical area
• support daily reports and transactions
• attend health fairs and market services to physician offices as needed.
