The Chef-in-Training role is onsite in Stamford, CT. Compensation is $16–$18 per hour depending on experience, plus $2–$3 per hour in tips. The role is part of DIG’s scratch-based restaurant kitchen team and supports its mission to rebuild the food system. The trainee prepares and cooks food while learning multiple kitchen stations and restaurant operations. The role contributes to guest service and team performance during both peak and off-peak service.

What you'll do

• Prepare, mix, and cook vegetables, proteins, and grains using recipes
• gain exposure to kitchen stations including garde manger, grill, roast, market line, guest concierge, and delivery or packout
• explain menu offerings, seasonality, and ingredients to guests
• support the team during service
• follow food safety standards and help maintain the restaurant’s health grade.
