Veterinary Technician - Inpatient Nursing - 2nd Shift. This is an onsite role in Middletown, CT. The salary is $22.50-$30.00/hour plus shift differential, dependent upon experience. Pieper Veterinary is a VECCS Level I Certified Hospital. This role focuses on providing nursing care for inpatient animals, utilizing skills in restraint, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia. The technician will collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure high standards of patient care and client communication.
What you'll do
- Restraint, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia.
- At least one year of experience in a busy hospital focused on nursing care.
- Experience with CPR, EzyVet, and SmartFlow is a plus, but not required.

What we're looking for

- Associates degree in Veterinary Technology is a plus
- Experience
- At least 1 year or more of experience in a busy hospital, focusing on nursing care. Associates degree in Veterinary Technology is a plus. CVT license is a plus. Knowledge with Anesthesia and monitoring. Phlebotomy. Knowledge of the procedures used for scheduling patients, receiving, treating, ordering medical supplies, and requesting laboratory tests. Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment. Knowledge of sterilization techniques to sterilize various instruments and materials. Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in the full variety of treatments to make preparations and provide tableside assistance. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services. This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. Must be 18 years or older to apply.
