Event Security Team Member (Per-Diem)

The Event Security Team Member (Per-Diem) role is onsite in New Bedford, MA, and pays $17 per hour. It is a part-time, temporary position in the Zeiterion's Building Operations department. The Zeiterion's mission is to steward its historic theater as a gathering place for performing arts experiences. The role helps protect attendees, performers, and staff while supporting event flow and customer service. Team members guard entry points, patrol venue areas, enforce organizational policies, manage crowds and restricted areas, respond to emergencies, and use de-escalation techniques to address conflicts.

What you'll do

• Guard entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized entry
• enforce organizational policies
• monitor areas where cash handling occurs
• patrol inner and outer premises, including backstage when required
• manage crowds, address disturbances, and control restricted areas
• respond to emergencies and execute evacuation plans
• identify conflicts and use verbal de-escalation and active listening to resolve issues peacefully.
