Dietitian (Part-Time)

The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for assessing patients, developing care plans, monitoring patient status, and counseling patients and families on nutritional requirements. This role collaborates with other health personnel to ensure optimal patient care.

What you'll do

• Conducts patient assessments to establish diet and food guidelines.
• Reviews patient medical orders.
• Develops and implements individualized medical nutrition therapy plans.
• Provides therapeutic plans for specialized nutrition support (enteral and parenteral).
• Works with Food Service staff to ensure conformance to diet prescriptions.
• Calculates nutritional requirements and identifies diet restrictions or food/drug interactions.
• Completes nutritional assessments and participates in interdisciplinary comprehensive assessments.
• Develops patient nutrition education materials.
• Assesses patient knowledge of diet and provides education.
• Monitors adherence and response to nutrition therapy.
• Plans menus to meet patient needs.
• Documents nutritional care plans and patient response.
• Serves as a nutritional care resource.
• Directs clinical supportive staff.
• Participates in staff and committee meetings.
• Conducts rounds to identify potential nutritional problems.
• Provides ongoing nutrition assessment and counseling.
• Communicates and coordinates with physicians and other healthcare personnel.
• Evaluates food served for quality standards and dietary prescriptions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Education

Bachelor's degree in dietetics nutrition required or equivalent required

Experience

1-2 years Experience in a healthcare setting required
