Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role is onsite in Cherryville, NC. Pay is $10–$16 per hour. The position supports Somerset Court of Cherryville’s senior residents through compassionate, personalized care intended to promote well-being, dignity, and independence. The PCA assists residents with daily living activities, monitors and reports changes in health, and encourages social engagement. The role also helps maintain a safe and comfortable environment by following infection-control and safety procedures.

What you'll do

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, meals, feeding, hydration, and personal hygiene
• observe and report health or behavior changes
• provide medication reminders and monitor for adverse reactions
• encourage companionship and community activities
• maintain clean and safe living areas
• follow infection-control procedures
• and respond to emergencies according to established procedures.

Why this role

High school diploma or GED, PCA/CNA/caregiver training, one year of relevant experience, and CPR and First Aid certification are preferred. Background check and drug screening are required.
