The Data Engineer role is onsite in Charlotte, NC. Pay is $88.59–$96.59 per hour. Genesis10 is recruiting for a 12+ month contract position with a global financial institution. The team is modernizing a large-scale data platform and expanding its Apache Spark ecosystem. The engineer will build and optimize data pipelines and support a migration of approximately 100TB from Vertica to Databricks. The work advances scalable ingestion, transformation, and analytics architecture using Spark, Kafka, and AWS.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and optimize large-scale data pipelines
• support migration of approximately 100TB from Vertica to Databricks
• expand Apache Spark capabilities
• improve ingestion, transformation, and processing frameworks
• partner with development teams on data flow and pipeline performance
• implement scalable solutions using Databricks, Spark, Kafka, and AWS
• build maintainable and scalable data architectures
• and support Kafka-based processing for transformation and analytics. Requirements include Apache Spark, Databricks, large-scale data engineering, Python and/or Java, object-oriented programming, SQL, enterprise pipelines, and AWS.
