Surgical Authorization Specialist

It verifies eligibility and benefits, investigates authorization and referral requirements, communicates with payers and clinical partners, and documents information to support compliant processing and reduce denials.

What you'll do

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
• investigate pre-certification, predetermination, and referral requirements
• review payer medical policies for medical necessity
• coordinate escalations and communicate with patients, clinical staff, and payers
• document in the electronic medical record
• prioritize cases and meet payer notification requirements.
