Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND. This is a full-time, onsite position with a salary range of $38.00 - $57.00 per hour. Sanford Health is a large rural health system dedicated to transforming healthcare. This role involves performing pediatric and congenital cardiac ultrasound procedures, including fetal echo training. The sonographer will work closely with pediatric cardiologists and rotate between clinic and hospital settings.

What you'll do

• Performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level requiring limited supervision.
• Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field of adult and pediatric cardiac disease and new techniques as they evolve.
• Performs clinical assessments and diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations.
• Utilizes cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images.
• Responsible for the safety, mental, and physical comfort of the patient while in the sonographer's care.
• Assists with the maintenance of laboratory accreditation.
• Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all customers (i.e. patients, co-workers, physicians, peers, etc.).
• Performs procedures at the hospital and at outreach mobile sites. Outreach mobile requires driving and/or flying with our without physicians. Overnight stays as necessary.
• Performs echocardiography tests and procedures in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography standards.
• Trains and orientates new employees and/or sonography students.
• Thoroughly understands the operation of the ultrasound machine and utilizes new sonographic technologies.
• Interacts professionally and effectively with fellow healthcare professionals.

What we're looking for

Education

Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent experience is required.

Experience

Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent experience is required. Minimum of one year of experience working independently in adult echocardiography is required.
