The part-time Pharmacist role is onsite at Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl, Mississippi, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., two days a week. Pay is $65–$70 per hour. VitalCore Health Strategies provides correctional health care services. The pharmacist maintains professional and ethical standards while providing pharmaceutical services at the institution. The role dispenses medications, maintains required records and inventory, advises staff, supervises pharmacy personnel, and responds to institutional emergencies and critical incidents.

What you'll do

• Maintain pharmacy records as required by law and policy
• respond to emergencies and critical incidents
• dispense pharmaceuticals
• identify and report possible drug effects
• consult with staff
• check expiration dates and manage outdated medications
• oversee purchasing and inventory
• orient, instruct, and supervise pharmacy personnel
• prepare statistical information and reports
• inspect pharmaceutical services and attend required training and meetings.
