Job overview

The IT Specialist / Web Design role is based at the Surface Combat Systems Center in Wallops Island, VA, with situational telework. Compensation is $65,000–$85,000 per year. The position supports the center’s systems and programs for Naval Sea Systems Command and Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems missions. The role combines software development, web application support, and cloud and server administration to help activate, operate, maintain, and engineer systems used for integrated warfare development, testing, evaluation, fleet operations, and training.

What you'll do

• Lead small software development projects using agile methods
• coordinate requirements, schedules, design, coding, debugging, testing, and user acceptance
• establish software development procedures
• administer AWS services and servers as needed
• verify STIG settings, IIS, and SQL databases
• optimize web applications for Department of Defense compliance
• and support application development using C# .NET, SharePoint, Angular, Node.js, JavaScript, CSS, PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI, and legacy ASP.NET.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor's degree in web design, computer science, or a related discipline and four years of directly related web, intranet, and SharePoint design experience, or an accepted education/experience substitution. Must be able to obtain or maintain a DoD security clearance. Travel up to 10% may be required.
