Equipment Operator

The Equipment Operator role is an onsite, full-time position in Richmond, VA. Pay is $20–$23 per hour, commensurate with experience. Synagro works with stakeholders to clean water, protect the environment, and serve communities by generating value from waste. The operator leads an operations team for assigned projects or work events and operates or directs inspection, maintenance, and control of dredging and dewatering equipment. The role contributes to safe, reliable project execution through equipment upkeep, material handling, compliance, and operational records.

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor operations team members
• conduct daily inspections and preventive maintenance on trucks and equipment
• comply with DOT, state, local, and company rules
• load, unload, and deliver material to approved destinations
• travel between job sites and plants, which may involve overnight travel
• perform shop cleanup and equipment setup
• maintain operating records and safety procedures
• operate heavy or agricultural equipment and perform basic maintenance.
