The Senior Hardware Engineer – High-Speed Mixed-Signal Design role is onsite in Boulder, CO, and pays $140,000–$160,000 per year, with an annual bonus and company equity also offered. Atom Computing develops quantum computers using arrays of optically trapped neutral atoms; this role reports to the Control Systems Manager. The engineer leads design and deployment of custom control-system electronics, combining system-level architecture with hands-on circuit and board work to support the hardware that controls the company’s quantum computers.

What you'll do

• Design instrument system architectures, including analog and RF front ends, signal conditioning, conversion, power, clocking, control, and monitoring
• research, simulate, prototype, evaluate, and design high-speed mixed-signal front ends
• collaborate with quantum engineers to define requirements
• design circuits, capture schematics, and work with a PCB layout designer
• participate in hardware bring-up, verification, and testing with FPGA, firmware, and software engineers.
