The Home Care Aide (HCA) – English Speaking role is onsite in Chicago, IL. Pay is $19.50 per hour. The role supports older adults’ dignity and independence in their own homes and advances CASL’s mission of compassionate, culturally sensitive services. The aide follows each participant’s Plan of Care to provide personal care, household assistance, meal preparation, medication reminders, and accompaniment. Observation, reporting, and ongoing training help maintain safe, individualized support and quality of life.

What you'll do

• Carry out tasks in each participant’s Plan of Care
• perform household tasks and shopping assistance
• prepare meals according to dietary plans
• assist with personal care and self-administered medication reminders
• accompany participants to medical facilities, shopping, errands, and activities
• monitor functioning and report concerns to the Field Supervisor
• complete required in-service training.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED and either one year in comparable human services or one year caregiving for a dependent child or adult family member. The posting requires 24 hours of pre-service training and a certificate; it states no prior experience is required when CASL provides training and support.
