The Horizontal Directional Drilling Operator role is onsite in Parkersburg, WV. Compensation is $175,000–$200,000 per year. The operator works with drill crews, supervisors, and project managers on utility installation projects involving natural gas, water, and sewer. The role operates directional drilling equipment to install underground utilities safely and efficiently. It contributes to completing installations on schedule while maintaining bore alignment, equipment readiness, and jobsite safety.

What you'll do

• Operate HDD equipment for underground utility installation
• perform pilot bores, reaming, and product pullback
• monitor torque, thrust, rotation, and drilling-fluid flow
• maintain designed bore profile and alignment
• assist with rig setup and jobsite preparation
• inspect equipment and report maintenance needs
• coordinate tooling
• follow safety procedures
• assist with utility locates and Dig Safe coordination
• communicate with locators, crew members, and supervisors
• assist with pipe handling, mud mixing, and site preparation.
