What you'll do
- Assist with machining, fabrication, and machine-shop maintenance
- assemble new and repaired valve actuators and gearboxes
- set up and operate lathes and milling machines
- perform outside- and inside-diameter threading
- read blueprints and create simple drawings
- use micrometers to maintain tolerances
- reverse-engineer simple parts
- machine bronze, steel, and aluminum
- operate tow motors, cranes, presses, and related equipment.
