Seasonal Spice Associate

The Seasonal Spice Associate role is onsite in Oakland, CA. Compensation is $21 per hour. This temporary shop position is about 5–10 hours per week in October, increasing to 16 hours per week in November, with an anticipated end date of December 31, 2026. The role supports Oaktown Spice Shop’s retail customers and its mission to inspire cooking with high-quality spices and seasonings. The associate assists customers, processes sales and orders, restocks products, and maintains the shop. These tasks help customers learn about the products and support the store during its seasonal period.

What you'll do

• Provide sales and customer service
• operate the cash register
• fill customer orders and check customers out
• educate customers about products
• assist customers in person or by phone
• restock shelves
• maintain a clean shop
• pick and pack pickup orders
• create custom gift boxes
• follow opening and closing procedures as needed. Weekend, evening, and holiday availability is required.
