Job overview

The Federal Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney (Electric) role is hybrid in Washington, DC. Compensation is $310,000–$425,000 per year. The associate will join the Washington office of a leading Am Law firm through Direct Counsel. The role advises and represents energy industry clients on federal electric-power regulation, including proceedings, compliance, litigation, rates, and transaction-related matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. It contributes to client matters through regulatory analysis, filings, due diligence, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

What you'll do

  • Represent energy companies before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in proceedings and litigation
  • advise on Federal Power Act and FERC regulatory compliance
  • prepare and file applications, petitions, tariffs, and other submissions
  • counsel on regulatory aspects of transactions involving FERC-jurisdictional assets
  • conduct regulatory due diligence
  • advise on rates, transmission, interconnection, and organized electricity markets
  • assist with Section 203 filings and other regulatory approvals
  • collaborate with multidisciplinary client teams.
