Security Engineer

The Security Engineer role is in person in Dahlgren, VA, contingent upon award of the associated work. Compensation is not specified. The role supports U.S. Naval warfare systems and DoD cyber assurance and policy efforts at multiple classification levels. The position exists to assess and strengthen cybersecurity for combat and information systems. It contributes by authoring authorization artifacts, identifying security gaps, conducting vulnerability and risk assessments, and developing requirements and mitigation plans aligned with DoD policies.

What you'll do

• Author DoD cybersecurity assessment and authorization artifacts
• document systems and derive mission assurance categorization
• recommend logical and physical security solutions
• apply DISA STIGs and NSA recommendations
• identify gaps between system specifications and security policies
• perform Red Team and Blue Team vulnerability testing using manual methods and ACAS
• plan and document risk assessments
• analyze system connectivity
• serve as ISSO focal point
• define IAVM plans
• support cybersecurity requirements, policy, research, and system engineering analysis.

Why this role
