The Medical Assistant role is onsite in Knoxville, TN, in an outpatient clinic. Pay is $16–$18 per hour. American Family Care provides walk-in primary and urgent care, including treatment for acute illnesses and injuries, workers’ compensation, and occupational medicine. The assistant supports licensed providers by preparing patients, carrying out clinical procedures, performing laboratory work, and maintaining accurate records. The role helps the clinic deliver timely outpatient care and keep its testing and treatment workflows operating safely.

What you'll do

• Obtain patient vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit
• prepare patients for exams and explain prescribed procedures and treatments
• perform ordered tests, administer prescribed medications and treatments, draw blood, and prepare laboratory samples
• conduct drug screening and document immunizations
• handle lab messages and callbacks
• make referrals and pre-certifications as needed
• prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain documentation.
