The position supports the Animal Emergency Clinic - O'Fallon, a 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital providing emergency care, surgery, critical care, and exotic-pet care. The assistant supports veterinarians and technicians in delivering patient care by helping with intake, treatments, diagnostics, medications, equipment, and hospital upkeep. The role also helps clients feel informed and comfortable while their pets receive care.

What you'll do

• Provide compassionate patient care
• greet patients and owners and record weights and vital signs
• assist with triage, exams, treatments, medication, and restraint as directed
• perform laboratory tests and radiographs
• operate and maintain equipment
• fill prescriptions and document medications
• feed and monitor patients
• communicate with clients
• maintain accurate records and clean facilities.

Day shift options are Thursday–Saturday or Sunday–Tuesday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM; a swing shift is also listed Thursday–Sunday, 2:00 PM–2:00 AM. Relevant veterinary experience and a high school diploma or equivalent are required; veterinary technician credentials are preferred.
