The Part-Time School Crossing Guard role is onsite in Ogden, UT. Pay is $16.00 per hour. The position is part of the Ogden City Police Department’s Crossing Guards division and supports public safety near school zones. The guard helps students and other pedestrians cross safely by monitoring traffic, directing vehicle and pedestrian movement, and reporting hazards. Consistent attendance during school sessions and clear communication with children, families, motorists, and school staff support safe crossings.

What you'll do

• Escort or direct children and pedestrians across streets at designated crosswalks
• monitor traffic and identify hazards
• use hand and verbal signals and issued traffic-control devices
• remain alert to traffic and environmental conditions
• communicate with children, parents, motorists, and school staff
• report unsafe driving and hazardous conditions to police personnel
• arrive on time and remain at the assigned location for scheduled shifts
• follow department policy and applicable laws.

Why this role
