Maintenance Worker — Horticulture and Forestry

The role contributes to safe, well-maintained public spaces through planting, pruning, grounds care, equipment operation, and irrigation support.

What you'll do

• Assist with tree pruning and removal using proper safety practices
• support tree planting and care, including watering, pruning, fertilizing, weeding, mulching, and pest control
• operate forestry and horticulture equipment
• assist with landscape installation and maintenance
• mow athletic fields and parks
• support turf establishment and irrigation installation, troubleshooting, and repairs
• assist greenhouse maintenance and plant propagation.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of forestry or horticulture experience. A Kansas Class B CDL with air brake endorsement is required within 45 days of hire. Work includes outdoor tasks and use of power equipment.
