Senior Construction Project Accountant

Job overview

The Senior Construction Project Accountant role is strictly onsite in Steamboat Springs, CO, with Monday–Friday standard business hours. Pay is $85,000 or more per year based on experience. The role supports Fox Construction, a local builder of custom homes and commercial spaces in the Yampa Valley. The accountant manages project financial processes from kickoff through closeout, including pay applications, job costing, accounts payable, and documentation. The work helps project managers track costs, maintain compliance, and complete construction projects with accurate financial records.

What you'll do

• Prepare and process construction pay applications and final billings
• maintain draw files, reconciliations, and lien waivers
• enter and review invoices in Sage 100 Contractor
• reconcile accounts payable and credit card statements
• assist with forecasting and cost tracking
• maintain subcontract and insurance compliance
• assemble project closeout documentation
• maintain project contacts, organize bids, prepare schedules, and manage project photos and daily logs.
