The Junior Chemist role is onsite in Naugatuck, CT. Compensation is $24–$35 per hour. The position supports laboratory testing and analytical investigations for client work involving urethanes, lubricants and additives, and plastic additives. The role performs routine wet-chemistry and instrumental testing, maintains laboratory equipment and records, and follows hazardous-waste, safety, and emergency-response procedures. The schedule is 40 hours per week, eight hours per day, Monday–Friday, first shift; entry-level candidates are encouraged and training is provided for the right candidate.

What you'll do

• Perform routine laboratory testing using classical chemistry, chromatographic, and ICP spectrophotometric equipment
• support analytical investigations
• conduct wet-chemistry testing and analysis
• operate and maintain GC and HPLC instruments
• manage laboratory-generated hazardous waste in compliance with RCRA standards
• follow safety and emergency-response procedures
• participate in compliance and safety training
• maintain laboratory records and documentation.
