Underground Laborer

Job overview

The Underground Laborer role is full-time and onsite in Northville, MI. Pay is $19–$22 per hour. The laborer supports Verita Telecommunications crews installing, maintaining, and repairing underground fiber-optic and utility infrastructure. The role assists with site preparation, trenching, conduit placement, and cable work. Safe, efficient field support helps crews complete telecom construction projects according to company standards.

What you'll do

• Assist with underground fiber installation, trenching, hand digging, and conduit placement
• support directional drilling and excavation crews
• set up and clean job sites
• locate and expose existing utilities
• pull, place, and secure fiber-optic cables and innerduct
• load and unload materials and equipment
• follow safety standards
• perform traffic control and flagging when required
• operate basic tools and small equipment
• communicate with crew members and supervisors.
