Technical Support Engineer L3 — Data Engineering Platforms

The Technical Support Engineer L3 role is onsite in Chicago, IL, for a long-term assignment. Compensation is not specified. The engineer serves as the primary technical interface at the customer location for enterprise data engineering platforms and coordinates with offshore engineering and support teams. The role owns complex production issues through resolution to help maintain stable, business-critical data platforms. It includes incident analysis, recovery and prevention, stakeholder updates, operational documentation, and collaboration with engineering and infrastructure teams; participation in an on-call or extended-hours rotation may be required for critical incidents.

What you'll do

• Provide L3 production support for data applications, ETL/ELT pipelines, batch workflows, and analytics platforms
• own incidents from triage through resolution, root cause analysis, recovery, and preventive actions
• troubleshoot AWS Glue, Redshift, Databricks, PySpark, SQL, and related services
• monitor platforms and resolve incidents within SLAs
• lead critical incident bridges
• coordinate with offshore teams
• support releases and deployments
• maintain runbooks and incident records
• identify automation opportunities
• mentor L1/L2 engineers
• participate in on-call or extended-hours rotation when required.
