The Chief Estimator role is onsite in San Antonio, Texas. Compensation is not specified in the posting. ModCorr delivers and sets up correctional facilities and specialty units built offsite to applicable building codes and standards. The Chief Estimator leads the estimating function so the company can evaluate complex project opportunities and submit accurate, competitive bids. The role directs estimate development and review, establishes consistent processes and cost information, assesses project risks and pricing strategies, and coordinates with preconstruction, operations, design and engineering, procurement, manufacturing, project management, and executive leadership.

What you'll do

• Lead the estimating team and workload
• establish procedures, templates, and standards
• mentor estimators
• review estimates and conduct final reviews
• oversee conceptual through final estimates, quantity takeoffs, and cost analysis
• evaluate supplier and subcontractor proposals
• identify scope gaps and project risks
• recommend contingencies and pricing strategies
• coordinate estimate handoffs and estimate-to-actual reviews
• maintain vendor relationships
• and improve estimating systems, metrics, and cost databases.
