The Urdu and Pashto Analytic Linguist role is onsite in Dallas, TX, with project-based employment and a rotating schedule. Compensation is $45 per hour. Metlang provides interpretation, translation, and monitoring services to the law enforcement community, including the U.S. Department of Justice. The linguist monitors, transcribes, translates, interprets, and analyzes Urdu and Pashto source material to assist law enforcement investigations. The work turns foreign-language communications into accurate English summaries and translations while meeting language-testing and security suitability requirements.

What you'll do

• Monitor foreign-language communications and summarize them in English
• transcribe spoken language into written form
• translate between source and target languages
• interpret orally, consecutively or simultaneously
• analyze source information
• work a rotating schedule
• travel out of state for extended periods as required
• pass required English, Urdu, and Pashto language tests or provide prior results
• undergo a government security background investigation.
