The Welder’s Helper role is onsite in West Monroe, LA, with compensation of $16–$18 per hour. The position is with the City of West Monroe and supports the lead welder in fabrication, repair, and maintenance work. The helper prepares materials and equipment, assists with assembling and aligning metal components, and maintains a clean, safe work area. This support helps the lead welder complete metalwork tasks and maintain equipment and workspace readiness.

What you'll do

• Assist the lead welder with fabrication, repair, and maintenance of metal structures and equipment
• clean and maintain welding equipment and the work area
• operate hand and power tools
• assist with layout and assembly of metal components
• prepare welding machines, torches, gas cylinders, and extension cords
• hold and align parts
• remove slag, rust, and excess metal with grinders or wire brushes.
