Out-of-School Time Assistant Site Coordinator

The Out-of-School Time Assistant Site Coordinator role is onsite in Sioux Falls, SD. It is part-time at 25 hours per week, Monday–Friday, approximately 1:00–6:00 PM. Compensation is not specified. The role supports Volunteers of America, Dakotas’ Out of School Time department and its community-focused work. The assistant helps maintain a safe, welcoming program environment and supports elementary students’ well-being and development. By assisting with schedules, lessons, activities, behavior support, parent communication, and records, the role contributes to an enriching and supportive after-school program.

What you'll do

• Maintain a safe, clean, inviting environment and actively supervise students
• engage students through games, play, and conversation
• plan and facilitate at least four lessons per month
• support personal hygiene and behavior plans
• communicate with parents daily
• support check-in, checkout, and enrollment processes
• help ensure safe transportation home, including possible agency-vehicle driving when covering staff absence
• monitor staffing ratios
• maintain student information, attendance, snack records, and reports
• attend meetings and required training
• report safety concerns and suspected child abuse or neglect.
