Part-Time Behavioral Counselor

Job overview

The Part-Time Behavioral Counselor role is onsite in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with weekday hours of 2:00–6:00 p.m. and a summer and spring break schedule of 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.; pay is $19–$25 per hour. The counselor supports community outreach and psychosocial rehabilitation services for children and adolescents. The role assesses client needs, develops individualized treatment plans, facilitates therapeutic groups, and documents progress. It contributes to coordinated care by working with multidisciplinary professionals and supporting clients’ social, emotional, and behavioral goals.

• Assess clients’ mental health needs

• collaborate with therapists, social workers, and educators
• monitor and document progress
• use de-escalation and therapeutic strategies during crises
• teach coping and conflict-resolution skills
• maintain confidential records and regulatory compliance
• transport clients as required.
