The Phlebotomist role is onsite in Bishop, CA, with a Tuesday–Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Compensation is $24.76–$32.92 per hour. The role supports Northern Inyo Healthcare District’s Laboratory Services. The phlebotomist collects and handles patient specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accurate patient identification, order processing, and specimen delivery. This work supports timely laboratory services while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.

What you'll do

• Perform venipuncture and heel sticks as appropriate
• identify patients according to standard operating procedures
• screen orders for billing and regulatory requirements and follow up on unsatisfactory orders
• obtain required ABN signatures
• enter and activate orders in the Laboratory Information System
• collect specimens according to requirements and Universal Precautions
• perform filing, faxing, scanning, phone coverage, and supply monitoring
• instruct patients on home specimen collection when appropriate
• transport specimens to processing
• complete annual education and maintain competencies
• collect drug screens and perform breath alcohol tests if trained or assigned.
