Senior AI Data Engineer (Cloud)

The Senior AI Data Engineer (Cloud) role is onsite in Chicago, IL, for a six-month-plus engagement. Pay is $80 per hour W-2, commensurate with experience. The engineer joins the Data Engineering team and partners with Data Product Management and Data Science to deliver data and AI capabilities for key initiatives. The role builds and operationalizes scalable data ingestion, transformation, and generative AI pipelines using Snowflake and AWS. It also supports production readiness through quality monitoring, deployment automation, documentation, and handoff to internal teams.

What you'll do

• Design ingestion pipelines into Snowflake using AWS services and Python
• build and optimize SQL transformation pipelines for text cleansing, normalization, and deduplication
• implement Snowflake Cortex AI workflows
• develop prompt versioning, parsing, validation, and fallback logic
• build and deploy Snowflake Native Apps
• track data and model quality KPIs
• integrate Arize or a comparable observability platform
• support production rollout with automation, runbooks, documentation, and team handoff.
