Direct Support Professional

Job overview

The Direct Support Professional role is onsite in Kittanning, PA, supporting a participant at home and in the community for approximately 15 hours per week; pay is $18–$20 per hour. Alpha Health Services provides community-based support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism. The DSP works one-on-one with a participant to implement the Individualized Support Plan, promote independence, and support community participation. The role contributes to the participant’s daily living and social inclusion through personal care, transportation, documentation, and coordination with the care team.

What you'll do

• Transport the participant to activities, appointments, and outings in support of ISP goals
• provide personal care with dignity and respect
• encourage community participation and social inclusion
• monitor and report changes in health, behavior, or condition
• document behavior, progress, and significant changes
• implement individualized care plans
• assist with meal preparation and dietary needs
• maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• collaborate with supervisors, healthcare professionals, and family
• complete required PA ODP training and maintain certifications.
