The assistant supports the Activity Director in planning and running the Activity Department. The work promotes residents’ social, recreational, sensory, spiritual, and emotional well-being through group and individual activities, while documenting participation and helping residents access programs.

What you'll do

• Assist in planning and promoting activities based on residents’ needs and interests
• interview residents and families about interests and needs
• encourage social communication through group activities
• provide individual and group sensory programs
• assist with recreation and bedside activities
• document attendance and participation
• attend in-service training
• transport residents to and from programs
• assist with resident council meetings
• and support a caring, compassionate environment.
