The Fiber Splicer role is an onsite field position based in South Bend, IN. Compensation is not specified. The role supports Verita Telecommunications’ fiber network through new builds, maintenance, restoration, and customer turn-ups. The splicer installs, joins, tests, troubleshoots, and maintains fiber-optic cable in aerial and underground environments. Accurate testing, documentation, safe work practices, and coordination with construction and network teams help maintain reliable network service.

What you'll do

• Perform fusion and mechanical splicing
• install, splice, test, and troubleshoot aerial and underground fiber
• interpret splice plans and construction prints
• conduct OTDR, power meter, and light source testing
• install and maintain splice enclosures and related infrastructure
• document test results and as-built updates
• perform emergency restoration and repairs as needed
• follow industry, customer, and safety requirements
• maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
