The STEM Maker & Woodworking Instructor role is an onsite, part-time position in Hollis, NY, with stated pay of $30–$35 per year. The schedule is after school, two days per week for two hours per day, Monday through Friday. The instructor supports New York Edge’s youth enrichment programs for students in grades 6–12. The instructor leads hands-on woodworking and applied STEM learning, connecting concepts to physical projects while teaching craftsmanship and structural problem-solving. The role builds students’ skills and confidence in a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
What you'll do
- Teach or co-lead daily activities
- build relationships with students
- organize and promote interest in woodworking
- follow safety plans
- maintain safe environments for tool and small-machine use
- work with program staff, school personnel, and families
- set and communicate lesson and project goals
