Cook – Head Start and Early Head Start

The Cook role is onsite in Wadesboro, NC, with a starting rate of $13.16 per hour and a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The cook prepares meals for children and staff in Union County Community Action’s Head Start and Early Head Start programs. The role supports children’s growth and learning by preparing nutritious meals and snacks, following program nutrition guidelines, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and positive dining experience.

What you'll do

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
• maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
• assist with food inventory and supply organization
• follow CACFP and program nutrition guidelines
• operate kitchen equipment safely
• support a positive dining experience for children.
