Design Release Engineer, Restraints

The Design Release Engineer, Restraints role is onsite at the PDC in Dearborn, MI, at least four days per week, Monday through Thursday, with Friday as needed. Compensation is not specified. The role supports Ford vehicle programs and their restraints-system components. The engineer designs, develops, validates, and releases restraint commodities, subsystems, and components. The work translates customer, regulatory, and product requirements into engineering targets and coordinates suppliers and assembly teams to support program milestones, production quality, and part approval.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, validate, and release restraint-system commodities and components
• monitor interior trim and interfacing components against program benchmarks
• translate customer, regulatory, and product requirements into engineering targets
• monitor suppliers and customer feedback
• incorporate designs and engineering changes at assembly plants
• support suppliers and assembly teams with production quality issues
• support production part approval processes.
