What you'll do

• Prepare thin tissue slices on slides
• recognize factors affecting procedures and quality results and take corrective action when needed
• perform preventive and corrective equipment maintenance
• manage supplies and laboratory quality-control procedures as needed
• preserve and process tissue
• embed samples in paraffin
• cut samples with a microtome or cryostat
• mount samples on slides
• and stain samples to emphasize abnormalities.
