Material Handler

Job overview

The Material Handler role is onsite in Grantsville, MD, with pay of $15–$23 per hour. The position supports shop production by keeping materials moving and work areas organized. The handler receives, verifies, stages, and ships materials so processing areas remain supplied and workflow stays on track. Safe operation of forklifts, motorized equipment, and overhead cranes is central to moving and organizing materials.

What you'll do

• Move materials to and from processing, blasting, painting, and completed-material queue areas
• assist with shipping and receiving
• unload trucks and check merchandise
• prepare orders by pulling and packing materials
• maintain neat, safe storage and work areas
• communicate shop needs to supervisors
• complete paperwork
• verify deliveries against load tickets and purchase orders.

Why this role

Forklift and overhead-crane material-moving experience and a valid driver’s license are required. Warehouse experience and knowledge of metal types, sizes, and shapes are preferred; lifting up to 50 pounds and working indoors and outdoors in harsh weather are part of the conditions.
