The Group Fitness Instructor - Cycle, Pilates, Aqua Zumba, Boot Camps role is onsite in Barco, NC, with compensation of $12.77–$14.00 per hour. The instructor supports YMCA members through group exercise classes and contributes to the YMCA of South Hampton Roads’ mission of strengthening communities. The instructor leads safe, engaging classes for participants at different fitness levels, promoting health, well-being, and a sense of belonging. The role supports the member experience through sound exercise guidance, motivation, and connection with participants.

What you'll do

• Lead group exercise classes
• provide customer service
• demonstrate wellness principles and promote healthy lifestyles
• follow ACSM and YMCA guidelines, including BPM standards and class-specific terminology
• update choreography and music selections
• support YMCA standards in interactions with members and team members.

Why this role

Requires current CPR, First Aid, and O2 certification or certification within 30 days of hire, plus relevant national group exercise certification or training within 30 days. Candidates must pass a group exercise interview and audition.
