The Overnight Shelter Counselor — Men’s Inn position is onsite at the Men’s Shelter in Boston, MA. The schedule is 40 hours, Saturday–Wednesday, 10:45 p.m.–7:15 a.m. Pay is $21.40–$30 per hour, plus a $2 hourly shift differential for hours worked between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Pine Street Inn’s role supports a safe shelter environment and helps guests pursue housing and connect with resources. The counselor provides direct guest services, responds to needs, supports housing pathways, and connects guests with appropriate services. The role also documents activity in the Homeless Management Information System and follows agency procedures while responding calmly to challenging situations.

• connect guests to substance use, mental health, and medical resources when needed

• document reports
• make sound decisions and seek supervisor guidance appropriately.
