The Future Operations Planners SME role is an onsite, full-time position in Lompoc, CA, with 25% travel. Pay is $165,000–$175,000 per year. The role supports the S35 Future Operations Division and USSPACECOM planning activities. The subject matter expert supports joint space operations planning, campaign and contingency plans, exercises, and operational planning teams. The work produces plans, orders, analysis, and recommendations to inform command decision-making and prepare for future operations.

What you'll do

• Coordinate transition of Joint Space Operations Plans and campaign planning into contingency planning cycles
• support joint planning under Joint Publications 5-0 and 3-0
• integrate plans and concepts with USSPACECOM and other command planning staffs
• analyze campaign, contingency, and continuity plans
• write and staff orders, plans, and instructions
• support command exercises
• participate in operational planning teams
• produce planning documents and risk/trade-off analyses
• attend command training and use task-management tools.
