Heavy Equipment Operator

Job overview

The Heavy Equipment Operator role is onsite in Columbus, OH, and pays $30 per hour. The operator supports Gibson Electrical’s Field Operations team on excavation, grading, trenching, and site-preparation projects. The role exists to carry out site work safely and accurately, coordinating with supervisors and crew members while maintaining equipment and following project plans and job-site requirements.

What you'll do

• Operate assigned heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, backhoes, graders, and rollers
• perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, material handling, and site preparation
• follow grade stakes, plans, and specifications
• inspect and maintain equipment
• monitor hazards and changing site conditions
• follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA regulations
• coordinate with crews
• maintain inspection records and production logs
• keep equipment secure and work areas organized.

Why this role
