The CDL-A Driver Trainee role is an onsite position based in Lewis Center, OH. The compensation for this role is $90,000 to $95,000 per year after training, with $21.00 per hour during the training period, and the team supports McLane Company's extensive supply chain and distribution network. This role exists to provide comprehensive training and hands-on coaching to individuals seeking to become successful professional drivers. The trainee will learn to safely operate tractor-trailers, manage delivery documentation, and provide excellent customer service while gaining the necessary experience to contribute to the company's distribution goals.

What you'll do

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.
• Operates truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Operates Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH), document delivery receipts/product temperatures and exceptions.
• Rides and trains with Driver Trainer to various destinations.
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations.
• Assists the Driver in unloading trailer and delivering product into customer premises.
• Provides customer service including on-time delivery of undamaged product, product returns and issuing valid customer credits.
