Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

What you'll do

• Perform clinical laboratory testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation
• process, analyze, and report results, including STAT and critical values
• perform quality control, calibration, and routine instrument maintenance
• troubleshoot testing issues and document corrective actions
• process specimens and perform venipuncture as required
• verify patient identification and specimen labeling
• notify providers of abnormal or critical results with documented read-back
• enter and verify results in VA laboratory systems and the EHR
• maintain logs and quality records
• participate in quality assurance, improvement, and patient safety reporting
• comply with VA, Joint Commission, CAP, and CDC standards.

Why this role

Requires an associate’s degree in a related field, MLT certification through ASCP or AMT, and at least two years of generalist MLT experience. VA credentialing, privileging, background check, PIV badge, and required training apply; no sponsorship is available.
