Site Microbiologist

The Site Microbiologist role is onsite in Germantown, MD, with an annual salary range of $140,000–$170,000. The position supports Precigen’s clinical and commercial manufacturing operations and its development of cancer immunotherapy and gene therapy products. As the site microbiology and contamination-control subject matter expert, the role leads the site’s Contamination Control Strategy and provides oversight of environmental monitoring, aseptic processing, cleanroom qualification, investigations, and microbiological quality programs. It works across functions to maintain regulatory compliance, mitigate risks, and improve laboratory and manufacturing controls.

What you'll do

• Own and improve the site Contamination Control Strategy
• lead governance and risk reviews
• provide microbiological oversight and floor support for manufacturing
• oversee environmental, utility, and process monitoring and trending
• lead or support investigations, root-cause analyses, deviations, CAPAs, and risk assessments
• review cleaning and disinfection programs
• support qualification, validation, change control, audits, and inspections
• improve microbiological methods, monitoring programs, laboratory operations, and training.
